Asseco PST strengthens ties between the financial sector and Angola’s agri-food industry

Asseco PST recently joined forces with ABANC – the Angolan Banking Association – and SEIVA – the Association for Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship – at an event in Luanda. The initiative aimed to raise awareness within Angola’s financial sector about the agrifood industry, emphasising its key role in driving economic development and diversification.
The central theme of the event, organised by ABANC and SEIVA, was the financing of agricultural value chains and food security. The discussion brought together various players from the financial system, including banks, insurance companies, investment funds, venture capital firms, capital market operators, and agricultural cooperatives. The need to drive sustainable agricultural development was also a key topic on the agenda.
In the audience, among the several dozen guests, were the Governor of the National Bank of Angola, Dr. Manuel Tiago Dias; the President of the Capital Markets Commission, Dra. Vanessa Simões; as well as the presidents and executive committee members of 10 banks, including senior representatives from Angola’s largest financial institutions.
Asseco PST presented all attendees with a specially dedicated copy of the book "The Transformative Impact of Agribusiness", produced by SEIVA and the Ondjyla Foundation—an institution committed to improving the quality of life for young people in rural communities through knowledge, technology, and entrepreneurship.
The book offered by Asseco PST highlights the crucial role of the primary sector in Angola’s economic diversification and emphasises the importance of structuring business models based on knowledge and cooperation, while refocusing the discussion on the impact on people.
On our side, we are proud to have been supporting Angola’s modernisation challenges for over 30 years, while continuing to contribute to the training of professionals essential for the country’s development.
