Asseco PST awarded Cotec Innovative Status for the 2nd consecutive year

Asseco PST has just received another distinction with the awarding of the Cotec Innovative Status 2025. Repeating last year’s achievement, the recognition was granted to the company for having reached, according to the organization, high standards in innovation, financial soundness and economic performance.

The Cotec Innovative Status is awarded annually to companies that prove it is possible to combine strong financial performance with investment in innovation capital, management quality and organizational culture — elements considered essential to enhancing competitiveness and business results.

In a message addressed to Asseco PST congratulating the company on this recognition, Cotec's General Director, Jorge Portugal, stated that “the forefront of the innovation economy continues to evolve, and your contribution to this dynamic is remarkable.”

The Innovative Status, created by Cotec (the Business Association for Innovation), is the result of a partnership with the financial sector, including the main commercial banks operating in Portugal. These include CGD, BPI, Millenniumbcp, Santander, Novo Banco, Bankinter, Banco Montepio and Crédito Agrícola.

Launched in 2021, this was the fifth edition of the initiative. The number of companies applying has increased year after year, although many do not meet the criteria required by the rating model defined in the Cotec regulations. This year, a total of 1,551 companies submitted applications.

The companies granted this status account for €832 million, a figure representing 30% of all private sector R&D spending in Portugal.
